Terms of Service

Welcome to SlateSense. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of SlateSense's websites, applications, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Nature of the Service

SlateSense provides informational and analytical content about sports matchups, including algorithmically generated picks, suggested bets, statistical analysis, and AI-generated commentary. SlateSense is not a sportsbook. We do not accept wagers, handle funds intended for wagering, or settle bets. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any sportsbook, casino, or gaming operator.

All content is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. Nothing on the Service constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Past performance is not a guarantee of future results, and no outcome is certain.

2. Eligibility

To use the Service, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years of age;
  • Reside in a jurisdiction where receiving sports betting information and placing wagers through a licensed sportsbook is lawful;
  • Not be self-excluded from gambling activities by any jurisdiction or operator;
  • Not be prohibited from using the Service under these Terms.

You represent and warrant that you meet each of these conditions every time you access the Service. You are solely responsible for complying with the laws of your jurisdiction.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account, keep your credentials confidential, and promptly notify us of any unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscriptions, Billing, and Cancellation

Certain features require a paid subscription. When you subscribe:

  • Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price until you cancel;
  • Payment is charged to the method you provided through our payment processor (Stripe);
  • You can cancel at any time from the Settings page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain access until then;
  • Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law or at our sole discretion.

We may change subscription prices; any change applies to the next billing period and you will be notified in advance.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Resell, redistribute, or republish picks or other Service content in any form (including social media reposting of full pick cards, subscription-sharing, or aggregator reposting);
  • Access the Service through automated means (scrapers, bots, etc.) except as expressly permitted by our documented APIs, if any;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the underlying models or source code;
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law, including gambling, anti-fraud, and data-protection laws;
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users or our staff.

6. No Warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, SlateSense disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that picks will be accurate, profitable, or uninterrupted, or that the Service will be error-free.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SlateSense and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or wagers, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid to SlateSense in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred dollars ($100).

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SlateSense and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE], without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms will be resolved exclusively through binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, seated in [CITY, STATE]. You and SlateSense each waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in any class or representative action.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you by email or through the Service at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
